Winnemucca, NV Balloon Glow

 

 

 

I got to attend a hot air balloon event in Winneucca over the weekend, because I was invited by my friend Kylee to crew for her at the balloon event. The event started a bit before I got there but I arrived in time for the balloon glow Friday evening to find out that Kylee wasn't glowing so we helped our friend Erica a little with her balloon because once all the balloons inflated on the field.

 

Sand Hollow Hot Air Balloon Event

Sand Hollow has a hot air balloon festival that we have never been to before. This is their 2nd year actually doing the event and I didn't know I'd actually be able to attend but because of a snowstorm in SLC that delayed me in leaving by a day or so, I actually was able to time it perfectly to arrive early Saturday morning in the area for the event.

Wednesday Washington Adventures!

Wednesday afternoon Aubrey and I headed to the church building to watch the activity day girls perform some things they'd been learning at their 2 day camp. It was pretty cute! We went to the lake in the evening to see one of my friends who lives in Woodinville and got some amazing pictures!

A Weekend With Tony

Since Tony has every other Friday off from work he rents a car and drives to Utah to hang out and do stuff with me for the weekend. I love it! He usually can leave work in the early afternoon on Thursday and gets in by midnight or so that night to Salt Lake. I have to work on Friday but that gives him time to do errands or pack some stuff or take boxes to our storage unit. 

Friday nights we've been able to go to movies in the park again.

Provo Hot Air Balloons!

The 4th of July celebrations started on June 30th this year. There were hot air balloons flying on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday. Tony & I decided to drive down with our teardrop on Friday night, stay the night at the field and watch the hot air balloons take off in the morning. The ETA was for 6am and we did not want to get up at 5 to drive down to Provo.  Our plan worked great and in the end the balloons did not really start inflating until 630am or so. 

Sandy Utah - Hot Air Balloons!

 We all know by now that I am a night owl and I hate to wake up in the morning. It is super hard to do. One thing that helps me a bit to get up early is knowing I can see hot air balloons. I love them so much! Every August in Sandy, UT they have a little hot air balloon festival. Friday & Saturday morning and then a balloon glow Saturday evening.

 

 

Springville Balloon Fest

Last Saturday was so very busy but that's how I love my weekend to be usually. We drove down to Springville and 'camped' for the night so we wouldn't have to make the hour drive early the next morning. We signed up to volunteer at the Springville Balloon Fest which was an interesting experience.

The hardest part of going to a balloon launch is waking up early. I am not a morning person! 4th of July it was impossible for us to wake up but Saturday morning I was determined that we go so up we got!

Where Have I Been?

Certainly not blogging, that's been obvious! Makes me so so sad. I've fallen really behind. I blame it on starting a new job and not being able to be online much during the day. Not that I really blogged during work before but once 5pm hit I could get a blog post up or if I got up before 9am I could write something and schedule it to post later in the day. Sigh. I'm not sure that there is any other explanation besides the fact that when I get off work I dont always get to go straight home & when I do get home I have piles of stuff to clean up (clothes, dishes, mail , etc) and then I get so tired because Im getting up earlier for work.  Also some nights I've been falling asleep earlier leaving less time for online stuff and just other life stuff in general! Excuses? These are mine. I am realizing I'm so bad at managing my time and I am trying to figure out how to be better.

Dawn Patrol & More!

Because we were on my friend Judy's crew, we were able to get breakfast with all the other pilots and crew. This morning it was waffles, Krispy Kreme donuts, juice, hot chocolate and a chicken stew type dish that was pretty tasty. Was a good way to start the morning and get warmed up.

So lucky that Sunday morning it was good for the balloons to fly! Just in time since we were leaving Monday morning.  A bunch of balloons did get blown towards the reservation which could be a problem because in order for the chase crew to retrieve the balloons they have to have someone from the reservation with them. Tricky!
