4th of July morning started out like most any other morning.

We were at the church at 7am for the program and flag raising ceremony.

Love being able to do this tradition somewhere.

Tender Mercies on Pioneer Day at Liberty Park

My main reason for going to Liberty Park on Pioneer Day was to catch Pokemon at an event happening at the Tracy Aviary. I have not been to the aviary for awhile and its one of my favorite spots in Utah - plus it has owls! We had just gotten to the park (its HUGE) and I saw a lady on a bicycle - she had a real live parrot on her bike too! I ended up getting to hold her guy, Medusa. The sweetest parrot! She got him from the day he was born pretty much and has raised him and bonded with him. He rides around everywhere with her. He doesn't bite hard. He doesn't fly away. Maybe if I raised a parrot from day 1 I would not be scared of their big beaks.

Idaho Family Reunion

Tony & I left Salt Lake around 830pm on Wednesday night. Had to stop and use Tony's birthday coupon for Cold Stone before it expired! Priorities ;-) We got to his parents house around 2/230 in the morning. Met up with some of my family at Winco to get donuts (tradition for the 4th of July for a long time now) and me and my sisters decided to go to some garage sales and some thrift stores.

Saturday in Albuquerque

I dropped Tony off at a sports bar so he could watch his Boise State game and I drove to my friend Carli's place to watch / listen to some of conference and catch up! It was great to see her again and talk about life things. 

I met up with Tony at the sports bar and he bought me lunch and I caught up on my internets ;-) Went back to the hotel, Tony took a nap because he had no sleep after driving all night. I monitored the balloon festival on Twitter and Facebook, checking the weather.

The balloons were not up for long because it got too windy but it was fun to see them up for a bit!

Great fireworks show on Sunday evening before heading back to the hotel.

We stayed at a Motel 6 , not too shabby, I thought the shelf on the wall by the sink was cool.

The only complaints I had was that there were ants and the TV didnt work. A repair man came and fixed it, we turned it off and left for awhile and when we came back, it wouldnt get channels again! sad day. Oh, and the internet..could not pay for another day online, you had to go to the office and only 1 device could be connected to the internet at a time. Blah.  Guess it's good we didnt spend much time in the hotel room!

Sparkler Fun

Did not take many pictures on the 4th of July because Tony & I both had to work, boo for middle-of-the-week holidays! 

We went to a high school down the street from us to view fireworks going off around the city. It was alright but next year we will probably go somewhere different.

Rode Tony's motorcycle to the school so it was a quick in and out, didnt have to deal with car traffic. Once we got home I pulled out my fireworks and we set a few off. Then Tony played with the camera and got some neat pictures of me and the sparklers.
