Owl Prowl!

My friend Emily told me a month or so ago about an Owl Prowl happening up at Alta Ski resort and I knew I had to sign up! Even better, it was happening while I was going to be in Utah. Score!!

The Owl Hunt

So my friend Adrianna in AZ told me about an owl set of dishes she saw at Walmart.
I went and started finding the items but it really turned into quite the hunt! Apparently they came out a month ago and so stores were not getting any more of the items in since they are "limited edition".

Owls at Gordmans

I have so many posts I need to do. My trip to California. Camping in Idaho with Tony's family. A trip to Vegas for a concert. A story about our neighbor with an axe tomahawk. Omgoodness. I feel bad that I'm so behind. Those posts will happen, you'll just have to check back to see when.

As for tonight , I really wanted to get something up so a few nights ago Tony & I were out and about and I went to Gordman's for a bit to look around before they closed. Here's what I found!

Owl sweater, pretty cute. I was tempted to try it on but I didnt have much time before they closed.

Where Have I Been?

Certainly not blogging, that's been obvious! Makes me so so sad. I've fallen really behind. I blame it on starting a new job and not being able to be online much during the day. Not that I really blogged during work before but once 5pm hit I could get a blog post up or if I got up before 9am I could write something and schedule it to post later in the day. Sigh. I'm not sure that there is any other explanation besides the fact that when I get off work I dont always get to go straight home & when I do get home I have piles of stuff to clean up (clothes, dishes, mail , etc) and then I get so tired because Im getting up earlier for work.  Also some nights I've been falling asleep earlier leaving less time for online stuff and just other life stuff in general! Excuses? These are mine. I am realizing I'm so bad at managing my time and I am trying to figure out how to be better.

So...here's what I have been up to (esp on the weekends) during the month of June!

Catching Up with Random Pics

My brother and his wife were in town from Rexburg for their spring break and we all went to eat at Sweet Tomatoes. The had never been before but I think they liked it a lot. Laura & Riley joined us too. Tony took the picture...this was after we ate.

General Conference Weekend

I headed down to Temple Square in SLC for the Saturday afternoon session of tickets to meet a person who had tickets to get me and a friend in to the conference center (building pictured below). I waited until a little after 2pm though at the flag pole and he never showed up :( Such a bummer but my friend Jenny & I ended up going across the street to watch conference in the Tabernacle instead so all was not lost.

Watching people walking to get in line

Snow Owls

A few weeks ago we got our first big snow of the season...I'm not sure if I should say 'season' because it hasn't really snowed since then! Here are some fun pictures we took to document the day - which happened to be Saturday.

What our street looked like when we woke up in the morning

Our front yard. The snow is pretty thick!

Came up to the top of our boots

Back of the building

My car in the carport & Tony's motorcycle

Tony with a bunch of snow piled on his truck

back parking lot of our neighbors

Our neighbors on the other side.

So then Tony said, "lets go to a park." We went to one at the community center down the street from where we live and found a baseball field full of untouched snow.

So we decided to play

and we built a snowman

And soon we had a completed snowman

Sometimes I punch snowmen

Tony is kinder to them than I was

Maybe a little too kind...

So I changed my mind and decided to become friends

Besties

We turned our snowman into a snow owl. Haha

Playing in the snow is hard work and Tony was hungry

So we went home and built 1 more snow owl for our front yard. Just a head this time

Got changed & headed to Zupa's for lunch. Mmm. I love a good salad with lots of fruit in it and a grilled panini with meat, tomato and guac

We went out to do some Christmas shopping & errands and I won a free pie at Smith's when we walked in and they were handing out raffle tickets and giving away food every 15 minutes. It was such a fun day!

Birds/Owls...the obsession continues. Hopefully these are pictures I have not posted before. Squee! I want to buy all the owl stuff!

My cute owl from Gardner Village but I saw them at Hobby Lobby too

Boo! Haha, their eyes light up! These were at Big Lots I think

Utah State Fair

Got a free ticket to get in to the fair by a guy handing them out which was nice of him! It was only $5/person to get in on the opening day of the fair anyways. We also got free parking and parked right across the street - so good!

Started out with going to The Taste of Utah. Ahh my hands were so full of samples that I did not hardly get any pictures but here are a few...

Got to sample pizza, some gluten free food, taffy, ice cream sandwiches, meat, chips, Apple Beer! a drink they serve at Tucanos and more...

There seemed to be a lot more people than last year!

From the burrito table..pretty delicious and kind of spicy in my mouth

Then we went to the free concert - the band Parachute performed. I really like their music!

Waiting in line

He climbed up so high!

Showing off my owl necklace in my watch

The band reflected in my watch

This clown was making us laugh so much (in the white shirt) by mimicking people

We could not stop laughing!

He clipped a string on some guy's shirt with a clothespin and pretended to walk the guy in the black shirt. Haha!

Then I spied some birds so we went and Tony talked to a guy holding a hawk for awhile. I admired this pretty white bird

Then we went in to the building and I got a free owl poster. Heck yes!

Sadly we missed the show at 7pm with the owl that flies over the audience. Might have to go to the fair again to see that!

There's an owl on my head!

Now I am a mountain lion cub I guess

Topped off the night with walking through a few of the exhibition buildings and getting cotton candy. Fun times at the fair!
