A Trip to Idaho

This year for my birthday, Tony's mom got me a ticket to go to Time Out for Women in Boise, Idaho.  I was pretty excited to go because I have not gone since I was 18 at least and living in CA. It's always a great thing to participate in and I felt like it would be good to go again. Tony & I left Friday evening and drove to Nampa to his parents house. Arrived a bit after 1am and I had to be up at 7am because we were leaving the house to pick up 3 other people at 730! I managed to be ready to go just in time and once we arrived in downtown Boise we had seats saved for us so that was really nice to sit where we did.

Stage set-up. Pink and gray and white. Very nice

Hilary Weeks spoke and sang

Slideshow during intermission I recognized the people in the picture on the left! Very cool

We ate at Five Guys across the street for lunch but after waiting nearly an hour for our food I did not waste time taking a picture of it because I was so hungry!

My youngest brother Evan, 16, driving my car. He actually did a pretty good job.
We were headed to Tony's parents house for dinner - pizza! with his brother , sister in law and niece.

Did some 'extreme' couponing with Evan and Tony's sister Trishna in the evening at Walmart. More on this in a separate post. I got a total of 90 items. So insane and exhausting.  I'm glad I dont do this every day but I will say couponing in Idaho is WAY better than in Utah!

On Sunday we went to Tony's parents ward for church. I recognize certain families from being there in the past so it's fun to see them and how their kids have grown.

Went to my parents house for a lunch of tacos and Allison  & her husband Trevor came over too.

I got to meet my newest nephew Teagan. My dad is holding him in this picture.
He slept the entire time, only opening his eyes once in awhile to take a peek at who was holding him.

Even Tony took a turn holding Teagan!

I'll get to see him again at Thanksgiving!

Couponing Craziness

Walmart shopping trip in Idaho with my sister in law and my youngest brother on Saturday evening about 10pm. Took us til 12:30 to get the check out process started.

Spent some time in my car sorting coupons so we could be more prepared once we got inside

Trishna and I..one cart had food and the other cart had for the most part had the non-food items. So when you spend $25 on items (food or personal) with no coupons then anything after that either rounded up to $1 or doubled. Pretty fantastic. I cant coupon like this in Utah!

Took a picture of the food items:

white rice, brown rice, mayo, nutella, veggies, cans of chicken, soup starters, pasta salad, cereal, Rice Krispy Treats and Crystal Light. Not pictured are the 4 bags of chips I got (1 went to Trishna and 1 went to Evan)

Picture of the non food items:

Deoderant, shampoo, Glade air fresheners, soap, toothpaste, Dawn, Neosporin, razors, floss and face stuff

Altogether if I had not couponed then it would have been $200 for all this stuff!
But with couponing we got everything for about $100 and I had a $20 giftcard so I only paid $80 out of pocket. Not bad I guess!

Super huge thanks to Evan and Trishna for spending a few hours of their evening helping with this project! Thanks as well to my mother in law for letting me know I should bring all my coupons to Idaho :)

Couponing Trip

Okay! I went to Walmart in Utah County on June 13th so that my friend Lindsay & I could check out at midnight and get our coupons doubled. She invited me to go and I had a bunch of coupons I thought I could use so away we went! We drove about 1/2 hour to get to this particular Walmart.

When we arrived, it was pretty mind boggling what we saw. I wish I had taken pictures. A group of people already had their carts stacked high with multiple items of the same category. I only had 1 coupon per item! We got there about 1030pm at night and the shelves were mostly cleared.

To read a better blog post about what went down, check out Lindsay's blog for more details.
Below is what I got that is listed in the picture and what I paid for it:

Bounty Towels $4.97 (12 pack not pictured actually)
Hawaiian Rolls $0.50
Lip Balm $0.25
Cake Mix & Frosting $1.59
Mini pepperoni $1.53
Ketchup $0.48
Yo plait Yogurt FREE
Lunch-meat $0.88
Baby Wipes $0.47
Vinegar $0.03
Butter $0.53
Stay-free Pads $1.86
Band-aids - I made $0.03
Candy Bars FREE (I got 4 but ate one)
Tic Tacs $0.04
Crystal Light $1.48

Walmart doesn't tell you your savings but I got all of the above for: $14.64

We did a price match to get the grapes (not pictured) for cheaper.

There were a lot of things I wanted to get that were totally cleared off the shelves. And some things I had coupons for, it would be a better deal at another store.
