CES - Las Vegas - Day 2!

**This post may contain affiliate links**

Day 2 was Friday and we headed to the main hall in order to catch a bus over to the Venetian which is my favorite hotel probably to go check out new and upcoming brands, tech companies from all over the world, and health, fitness, cooking, and more. There's a downstairs and upstairs and probably more that we just didn't have time to explore it all in a day. Keep reading to see all the cool stuff I got to check out!

CES - Las Vegas - Day 1!

Day 1 at CES started out colder, overcast, and rainier than in years past but that didn't damper my spirits and the day went very well. Keep reading to see what I got to see throughout the day.

Day 2 - CES 2020

Day 1 ~ CES 2020

Another year, another great time being able to attend CES. I drove to Vegas Monday night and stayed with my friend Emily. I picked up my friend Marie at the airport and everything worked out so perfectly with that which I was relieved about. Usually, the Las Vegas airport is pretty lowkey and easy to navigate through compared to other airports I've been to.  We dropped off our belongings at the resort - they were so kind to let us check in early! Summoned a Lyft ride and we were on our way to the Sands hotel to start our day.

CES 2019 - Day 2!!

Here we go, oh-lay, oh-lay...yea, I'm weird. But also super excited to get to Day 2 of CES. There is still SO much left to see and do and we haven't even been to the main convention center yet which is making me slightly anxious but we will be covering that area all day Thursday and Friday.

CES 2018 - Day 2

!

Day 2 of CES and I was ready to walk and walk. We decided to explore the Sands Convention Center upstairs first and then catch a shuttle to the main convention center.

CES 2017 - Day 1

I can't believe this is my 6th year attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It's soo much better when I can blog about it at the end of each day but I was exhausted and out late after the conference, then up early to do it all again so the blogging just didn't happen. Now it feels like a chore to document which sucks because I never want blogging to feel like a chore. However, what I did and saw must be documented so here we go. It also must be noted this is the first year I think that I was actually able to go for 3 full days. I dont stay Sunday since it seems like most companies are dismantling their booths that day but maybe next year I'll go for half of that day or something.

Vegas Blogger Meetup

My friend and fellow blogger Wendy, who lives in Las Vegas, told me about a blogger meetup going on during CES and she picked me up after I got done at the convention and we headed to a restaurant called Serendipity on the strip.

Consumer Electronics Show Day 3

Headed to CES for the last day! I snapped this as I was driving so it's not the best but you get the idea. This is a long post full of pictures and words so you can scroll and look at pictures or you can read as you go. I just have so much to share from the last day!

Consumer Electronics Show Day 2

I spent my second day at CES wandering around the main halls again. There is SO much to see and do. Things to stand in line for and make something or try to win something. Huge boothes with tons to see. Tiny booths. It's just a lot to take in. Here's some of what I saw on Thursday! It's a LOT of pictures but enjoy.

Consumer Electronics Show Day 1

I arrived in Las Vegas Tuesday evening around 10pm. It only took me 5 hours to get here which was nice, no bad weather to deal with! I am staying with my friend Kylee in NLV so it's a perfect arrangement! Downtown is not too far and I am staying in a comfy bed with a great friend hosting me!

CES 2013

My yearly tradition now since this is the 3rd year in a row I have had the opportunity to attend the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas? Dont mind if I do! Today I had about 2-1/2 hours to explore so I stayed in the main building at the conference center. CES just does it for me, much like candy mountain is to Charlie the unicorn.

First stop, to get my badge!

Check

Got my face taken by an app that the New  York Times people had on their iPad (only available to them for CES) and you said a word and it picked news stories and words that went with it. First I said "hot air balloon" but it was kinda "eh" so I said "Arizona" and it turned out much better. Love this so much! It is really cool to look at.

Next, here are tons of pictures of all the stuff there I saw that I thought was so super cool

Pentax cameras. So many of them. Really cool colors and color combinations , did a few close up in the picture below

Fun speakers that suction to glass

Even saw an owl at CES :)

I thought Tony would appreciate this display of telescopes. The one right there on the right was pretty chunky!

With this TV you did not need to wear 3D glasses. Pretty freekin cool. Maybe in the year 3000 I will own one of these. Ha!

Slingbox was there. We had one for a bit. Maybe we will get one again sometime. They are partnered with Dish now and we have Comcast. Such is life.

Smart fridge. If someone got used to this and then the electricity went out or something malfunctioned , I'm sure it would no end will. Still, I thought it was very interesting and wish I could have spent more time learning about how it all works.

There was another brand at CES similar to GoPro but this booth had tons more people than the other company. Teehehe

Took this picture for Tony because it is soccer and there was a soccer ball. 4K..gotta learn about that I guess!

The display behind me went around the whole room, it was huge!

Here it is standing a bit farther back. It was moving and changing. So wow.

Phone cases on display. Lots of neat colors

Interesting cameras here. Some were so big, like that silver one on the middle left? Super fat and chunky I'm not sure who would even buy it?!

This water falling display spelled out words and did designs, as you can kind of see here there is a design going on. It was sort of annoying to listen to but looked way cool!

These TV's in the Samsung display basically have no border around them, it's just very very skinny. Lots different than the TV I have now. More picture = more better!

A different view of a different part of the Samsung TV's. The picture displayed was amazing.

Sony Smartwatch. I want one! Looks similar to my (kno)Name Flektor watch but! this watch connects to the bluetooth on your phone and you  can see who is calling before you grab your phone, check Twitter and Facebook updates, email, view maps, pictures and more. I was blown away by how cool it was. You can scroll top to bottom or right to left. It will play your music. Wow. SO so cool. The blinged out band is not available in the US though. At least not yet. These came out last year so I'm not sure why I didnt hear about them yet til today!

85" TV! "The Future of Television" So many people were crowded around it so I was unable to get a closer picture but it was like sitting in front of your own personal movie theater screen. Impressive.

Missed the demonstration on 3rd generation gorilla glass but will try to catch it on Friday. So many buildings and booths left to see that I doubt I will make it back in but we'll see. They also had these cables that do not fray and you can bend and beat and try to pull on them and stretch them. They are so durable. Imagine, no more frayed cell phone or ipod cords!

Smart refrigerator on the right..and I guess on the left is a freezer?

The picture I took a picture of was taken with a Canon camera. WOW I wish the tag by the photo had said where this had been taken. I thought the photo had a light behind it but no, the camera did it all!

Same with this amazing photo of what looked to be a piece of ice on the beach. I couldnt stop staring at it.

Portable wireless speakers with all kinds of logos and designs, you could even put your own photos on

Close to 6pm (when everything closed) I saw some Engadget guys doing a live show

New Ford car I thought looked pretty slick. It even had 4 doors :)

Tired feet after only 2-1/2 hours. Hope they do better tomorrow because I'll be at CES for 5 hours. Next year - go Wednesday, Thursday Friday instead of just Thursday and Friday ;-)

Consumer Electronics Show - Vegas 2011

Words cannot sum up how amazing this weekend was, only the 2nd weekend of this brand new year - 2011!  CES was the wknd after Tony was in Arizona and I got to see him the weekend I went to Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show aka CES. I registered  for it in August 2010 when it was free so all I had to pay for was my plane ticket. In the end, I wound up driving because Tony got tickets to the Wave , on the border of Az and Utah, for the same weekend. Total score that I got to see him two weekends in a row!

Little tricky to get my badge..I found out the day before I was supposed to show 2 forms of ID and the 2nd form of ID had to be a pay stub or business card. So I printed some at work and luckily the guy at the counter accepted that and gave me my pass. Phew!
So many Asians standing around outside on a break or something. I dont know why but I laughed inside. Prob bc it reminded me of a movie or something.

Displays set up outside before I walked in

Here's where to go! This is the main building and I spent a majority of the day in here.

First I checked out the 3D tv's for awhile. Boy they were pretty neat

I found a panel to go to but it turned out to be about kids and computer games that help them learn. It was interested, IF I had kids. So I was like, forget this , I am only here 1 day, I am going to go get free stuff and see all the vendors! So, thats what I did...err..tried to do. It was impossible to see everything in just 1 day.
Left to right - cool robot ...wall of lights...some kind of bike..and a girl playing the new Kinect
Huge wall of so many tv screens! It was just something you had to stop and stare at. Next, a few items from Dr. Who! Then, I spent some time at the Wired Magazine booth and won the Roxio cd software right before they closed and I had to leave. Intel had a pretty cool set up so I sat and listened to them for a bit.
New car technology - dual USB and stuff, looked sweet. Ipad's that turn into a computer with a real keyboard and a phone you can hook your iphone into to use like a regular size phone. Lol

A band performed but I missed them :( Still, took a pic anyways  Allegedly Lady Gaga was at CES? Or maybe it was a contest to meet her but they kept saying "Lady Gaga will be here at 3pm" I dont care for her so I didnt stick around.

The floor in the room I was in. It was huge and there were many more rooms to see!
Sweet jump drives, I liked the owl one! The pic in the middle has gotta be someone famous but I didnt recognize him. I managed to get close enough to get a picture before his undercover secret agents whisked him away.

A favorite place to get freebies

Stayed til dark and then Emily Valentine picked up me...and my bag of schwagg
(pictured below)

I scored a ton of good stuff. Lots of pamphlets and information but also a tshirt, Reeses, soft 3D tv dog, Roxio software from the Wired booth, cloth to wipe my ipod and cell phone and more :D

Emily & I went to the newest hotel in Vegas and explored that. My legs were so tired from walking all over the place at CES but in my next post I will write about the new hotel, my dinner that pretty much cost $30 [ at least it was a buffet! ] and some cool pictures. Stay readin'!
