CES - Las Vegas - Day 1!

Day 1 at CES started out colder, overcast, and rainier than in years past but that didn't damper my spirits and the day went very well. Keep reading to see what I got to see throughout the day.

Samsung always has an impressive booth with many screens.

Indoor cooling and heating with a way to change out the photo.
Very different than anything I've seen before.

Who knew Bugatti made scooters!
$1200 on HSN. Oh man. Super cool scooter, I liked the lights on the front of the scooter and on the ends of the handles.

I fell in love with this fridge, the Samsung 29.2 cu ft 4 Door Flex Refrigerator
What I loved about it was that you could change all but one of the sections to be a freezer from fridge or a fridge from the freezer. So if you need a section to be a fridge sometime vs. a freezer, you can do that!

Checked out the 2023 version of the Freestyle projector.
Lumens have gone up by only 500, so not great but the quality looked decent from what I could tell.
I just really like the way it looks, very different from most other projectors.

In my opinion, Google scaled way back this year, as they did last year. They had a nice setup outside the main convention center but were not giving away any good prizes from what I could see. The employees were very fun and helpful to talk to. Overall, a great space. I did miss the big gumball machine with prizes that they have done in years past (before the pandemic).

Also set up outside in the parking lot was Brave Robot ice cream!
I have a traveling nurse friend who introduced this ice-cream to Tony & I when she stayed with us. It's pretty tasty and their ice-cream sandwiches were no different. I tried the mint chip one.

I also came across this cubed cheese and was intrigued by it. I was mystified by the "zero dairy", how is that possible with cheese? They had 3 kinds to try and they were all very good. A soft cheese. Would be good on a cracker or maybe a bagel.

Wrapped up the day by getting my picture drawn by a robot. It was so interesting. It also did not turn out how I expected. The result was pretty funny. Keep scrolling to see the results.

We ate at Buffet @ Asia for dinner.

I loved the sugary rolls. The chicken and mushrooms. The green beans.
Overall it was okay. A bit expensive for my budget for dinner but it was fun to try a new buffet plus dinner prices are always more expensive. They had many things I did not want to try (like sushi and frog legs) but overall I found an okay amount of food to eat.

Swag from the day.

You can see the portrait the robot drew of me.
I got a cute bear and bag from USPS.
A shirt from the Nikon booth which I gave to a friend.
Jackery had a booth and I got to make a sticker and got a pouch with seeds to plant.
Got samples of all 3 cheese flavors.
A cool black cup from TCL, among a few other items.

Stay tuned for day 2!
