Christmas in Color - Idaho Experience

I was able to go to Christmas in Color while Tony & I were here in Boise, Idaho and this was really my first time going to something like this. I know Utah and other states do it but I just never took the chance to go.

Cool Utah Lights

After going to Luminaria we stopped by a cemetery on Redwood Road and got a picture of this amazing tree covered with lights. Kind of made up for not going to Draper to see the "Tree of Life" this time.

All The Pretty Lights

Tony's cousins who live in SLC invited us to come to the Christmas devotional with them this past Sunday because they had gotten a bunch of tickets. I enjoy going to events at the Conference Center on temple square so I said sure, we would love to go.

We sat in the balcony so we had a really good view.

Christmas Traditions

I should have a mini series on my blog about Christmas traditions Tony and I have started since getting married. But for tonight I will focus on one which is going to temple square to look at all the lights! They do an amazing job every year with their displays and its worth it to fight the traffic, cold and sometimes crowds to see it all.

This year we met up with our friends Gabe, Steph & their son Austin. We brought hot chocolate which helped because I almost froze my face off it was so cold outside! Here are some pictures that I took, cell phone quality and I did not edit them but hope you enjoy them anyways.

Started out by watching the story of the birth of Jesus

I thought this shot turned out really nice

Listened to a choir sing for a bit and get warmed up

I thought these snowflakes were so cool! Something new maybe? I had not seen them before

Standing by the reflection pool

Here's one that I put on Instagram

They had these in different languages lining where we were walking, I liked this one because it had sign language on it!

Always like to take a self-shot. Haha

Some cool nativities...

This one was funny because the little guy at the top of the stable looked so strict

So glad we made the time to go and that it wasnt raining or snowing. Fun to have our friends come along too & I look forward to going here to see the lights again next year!

Zoo Lights!

Last week the Phoenix Zoo turned on the zoo lights one last night. It had ended on the 5th after being on-going for about a month or so but they had a special night on the 11th that they turned the lights on more time and you could get in for free with a canned food donation. Since I hadn't been able to go see the lights yet I really wanted to go. My friends Rusty, Tommy , Victoria and Courtney came too! The lights were really cool and worth going to see. My favorite was the lights that flashed to a certain song.
Another note, because we were there for the last hour the lights were on we got free churros!
