Turning Grapes Into Grape Juice

We stopped by the family's house where we keep our bees to give them a little sample of our honey. Bro. H invited us to pick some apples and some grapes while we were there which was super cool of him! I gave most all the apples to Laura to dehydrate for us and I went back with a friend a couple days later to pick a few more apples.
They are so delicious!

Here's what we did with the grapes..err...mostly Tony did the work but I helped a little bit. It's hard with such a small kitchen for us both to do work in there.

First we washed the grapes to get off any dirt or bugs

Then put them in our big pot and started to smoosh them with a smasher kitchen tool

We heated them up on the stove for awhile, mushed them some more and put them in a strainer

Tony got his cheese cloth out and we strained and strained. It seemed to take a long time but we probably only had to do this about 6-8 times. Lots of seeds to get out.

The stove and wall was a mess. I cleaned it all up, this was my job.

Mess above the kitchen sink. All clean now though.

And this is what we ended up with! Glad we had enough empty jars left.
Tony gave them a water bath to seal the lids.

Have you done any canning lately? What did you make?

I seriously need to learn how to can. I remember doing it with my mom as a kid, but the process is lost on me. Hope the juice tasted good!
